Kristy Hayes, MA, LPC

Kristy is a graduate of University of Houston with a B.A. in Psychology. She earned her M.A. in Counseling at Morehead State University.  Kristy enjoys using creativity and technology in therapy, whenever possible, because she has seen it make a greater impact when changes are visible, memorable and practical. Kristy believes it is her life's work to be helpful to those who are seeking their "right fit" place in this life, and need some help navigating their path to a fulfilling, connected, and peaceful life.

Kristy has extensive experience in the following areas: 

  • Trauma: domestic violence, sexual / physical abuse, rape, homelessness

  • Adolescents: Developing a sense of identity, questioning role in family/ world, attempting to become independent, learning to express themselves as individuals, understanding themselves, feeling "normal" /acceptable, sexuality concerns, self-esteem, bullying, fears about future, test / performance anxiety and confusion or absence of a sense of direction for their lives.

  • Life changes: Career changes, job loss, divorce, grief of a loved one, preparing for a new path, building confidence in abilities.

  • LGBT issues: Questioning sexuality, coming out, dealing with acceptance, abandonment issues, family conflict, loneliness, relationships, spirituality and developing a secure sense of identity. 

  • Families: Parenting, behavioral interventions, discipline techniques, expectations, consequences, rewards, motivation, inspiration and importance of consistency to improve relationships, build trust and gain respect from children.
